About

Hillel O'Leary is a non-binary, culturally Jewish artist, educator, advocate, and multidisciplinary designer living and working in Providence, RI. Their continuing research is based in a constellation of conceptual investigation, making, and experimentation drawing from Queer theory, post-structural, and post-capitalist critical theories, and hybridized technological and industrial fabrication in the service of creating immersive socially engaged experiences. This work draws from the visual language of science fiction, industrial production, and the architecture of the sacred to serve as a theatrical queer futurist speculation on a world that exists beyond the present. Sometimes bleak, sometimes darkly comedic. Pitch black with neon highlights.

O'Leary's work has been recognized nationally and internationally in recent exhibitions at the Boston Sculptors Gallery, and at the Digital Stone Project Conference in Pietrasanta, Italy. Their work also includes public presentations in the US national parks system, and TEDX RISD.
